The original painting of The Calmady Children (Emily and Laura Anne, hangs in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It was painted by Sir Thomas Lawrence in xxxx. It measures approximately 30" x 30". Lots of information can be found on the internet about the painting and the artist.
The painting was recently appraised at Bonhams & Butterfields, who gave a verbal appraisal of $1,250. As they take a substantial fee to sell a painting at auction, I thought I would try and sell it on my own and pass the savings onto someone who would appreciate the painting.
